Walking Back to the Future is a Heritage Lottery Funded project centered in Shettleston - a district in Glasgow's East End.
Fuse Youth Cafe and Shettleston Housing Association devised the project to celebrate and share Shettleston's Heritage with the wider community during the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow during 2014.
Community Archaeologists from Northlight Heritage are working with 6 target groups to research Shettleston's past:
*Fuse Youth Club members
*Shettleston History Project
*Edrom Path Sheltered Housing Residents
*Eastbank Primary school
*Eastbank Secondary School S4 pupils
*A group comprising of interested members of the public
Their findings will be posted on this site and will also be shared on a leaflet and mobile phone App produced for the Commonwealth Games.
Members of the community will be trained in delivering Guided Walks during the games to take visitors round the trail. Temporary markers will be constructed and put in place to identify points on the trail.
